Art direction: full development cycle

Gwent started off as a mini-game in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. After gaining a lot of popularity, CD Projekt RED decided to develop it as a stand-alone game focused on multiplayer.

I’ve been appointed the art director of Gwent ever since the start of secret works on the standalone version until the Homecoming release. It was a very interesting project, especially that its goals and expectations changed multiple times throughout the development.

My scope of work encompassed not only overall art direction, but also leading the card illustration team and giving them daily feedback, coordinating and providing feedback to outsource, creating illustrations and UI assets, implementation in engine, and overseeing marketing art.
